Promising Therapies

We scour the internet for financial orphan ideas that could be implemented today, with cancer being the main focus.

We review findings with medical experts from around the country who advise us on the feasibility of the treatments, their costs, and the potential risks and benefits to both quality of life and survival.  They also review the strength of the evidence and the scientific rationale behind these ideas and how the ideas might best be incorporated into current standard of care treatment plans and work flow. They help design clinical trial protocols for the most promising ideas.  It should be noted that all of the ideas lack the highest level of evidence i.e. randomized controlled studies or else they would be part of national guidelines and standard of care.  But for those who may not have time to wait for such studies or don’t have access to them, we urge you to take a careful look, bring these interventions to the attention of your caregivers and to carefully weigh risks and benefits for implementing them in your case.
